What We Collect

• Email address (for account creation and login via OTP)
• Display name and optional bio
• Profile photo
• Photos and videos you share
• Captions and comments
• Direct messages
• Contacts (hashed phone numbers and email addresses, for friend discovery — only if you opt in)
• Device tokens (for push notifications)

How We Use It

Your data is used solely to provide the app's features: sharing posts with mutual friends, messaging, and friend discovery. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your content for training AI models.

Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties. Your posts are only visible to your mutual follows (and group members, if you use groups). Direct messages are only visible to participants.

Data Storage

Data is stored on secured servers (PostgreSQL database and S3-compatible object storage). All data is encrypted in transit via TLS. Contacts are stored only as one-way hashes — we never store raw phone numbers or email addresses from your contacts.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings within the app, or by visiting lab1908.com/instadamn/delete-account. When you delete your account, all your data — posts, messages, comments, follows, and profile information — is permanently removed.

Data Retention

• Active accounts: data retained while the account exists
• Deleted accounts: all data is permanently deleted immediately
• Contact hashes: deleted when you delete your account

Children

Instadamn is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
